Benita Cech
Benita is our Educator in the Kookaburra Group and has an Associate Diploma of Education (Childcare)
Benita commenced here in 2012 and in her spare time she enjoys cooking and gardening.
Gill Spall
Gill is the Educator of the Gecko group. Gill has been working in community kindergartens since 2009. Holland Park was actually the very first kindergarten she worked at many years ago.
Karen Curness
Karen is the Teacher in both the Kookaburra, and Gecko groups, as well as the Director of HPK. She has a Bachelor of Teaching, a Grad dip in Special Education as well as a Grad Certificate in Children’s services.
Karen has taught since 1995 in the Early years of both primary schools and kindergartens. She is passionate about play based learning and the benefits it has on encouraging children to grow and enjoy their learning journey. In her spare time Karen enjoys gardening, painting and spending time with her family.
Monica Whitter
Monica is our Admin / Finance Manager.
Monica will be in the office every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at HPK.
Here’s some fun facts so you can get to know her:
‘I have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Microbiology and Genetics. I was a foster carer for 16 years. I have studied psychology and have extensive experience working with special needs children. I have been doing administration and bookkeeping for about 28 years. I also work at MoTeC Qld (since 2020) which is a specialised field of mechanical where they work on performance and sports racing vehicles. I am a mother of three and a grandmother to two beautiful granddaughters.’
