Kookaburra Group Staff

Part of what makes Holland Park Kindergarten so great is the amazing team of Educators and Assistants who we have, to care for the children.

Megan Mitchell

commenced as our teacher of the Kookaburra group in 2021. Megan has a Master Speech Pathology Studies and a Grad Dip in Education (Early Childhood). Megan was a parent at HPK during 2015, 2018 and 2020 and enjoys cycling and bush walking with her 3 children.

Benita Cech

is our Educator in the Kookaburra Group and has an Associate Diploma of Education (Childcare)
Benita commenced here in 2012 and in her spare time she enjoying cooking and gardening.

Gecko Group Staff

Karen Curness

Karen is the Teacher of the Gecko group as well as the Director of HPK. She has a Bachelor of Teaching, a Grad dip in Special Education as well as a Grad Certificate in Children’s services.
Karen has taught since 1995 in the Early years of both primary schools and kindergartens. She is passionate about play based learning and the benefits it has on encouraging children to grow and enjoy their learning journey. In her spare time Karen enjoys gardening, painting and spending time with her family.

Gill Spall

Gill is the Educator of the Gecko group. Gill has been working in community kindergartens for almost 12 years. Holland Park was actually the very first kindergarten she worked at many years ago.

Heather Glacken

Heather will be working as an inclusion support assistant.
I have a Bachelor of Early Childhood Education and nearly 30 years’ experience with children. I’m also a qualified kindergym coach.
I’m married with two beautiful grown daughters.
On the weekends I like to do some work in my garden and cheer on my favourite footy teams.
I’m looking forward to getting know your children and helping them grow.

Monica Whitter

Monica is our Admin / Finance Manager.
Monica will be in the office every TUESDAY and THURSDAY at HPK.
Here’s some fun facts so you can get to know her:
‘I have a Bachelor of Science majoring in Microbiology and Genetics. I have been a foster carer for 15 years. I have studied psychology and have extensive experience working with special needs children. I have been doing admin and bookkeeping for about 26 years. I also work at MoTeC Qld which is a specialised field of mechanical where they work on performance and sports racing vehicles.’
